A Little About Us

Paul was born in near Ipswich in Suffolk. He is the youngest son of Peter William St George Shapcott and Mabel (Field),who moved to Frenchay, Bristol, where his father still lives.  Sadly Paul’s mother passed away in November 2000.

Paul’s Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Grandfather was John Shapcott of the Whitestone / Exeter Branch of the Shapcott Family.

Louise was born in 1956 in St Bartholemew's Hospital, London (within the sound of "Bow Bells" which makes her a “Cockney”) daughter of Hugh Kingsley Davies and Concetta ("Tina") Leonardi.  Louise’s maternal grandparents were Italian. They left Atina in Frosinone in 1911 and moved to London to live in the Clerkenwell district, known as “Little Italy”.

Here is Louise’s Clerkenwell Website

In April 2005 we decided to completely change our lifestyle, and left Wales to live in Italy. We had taken holidays several times in this beautiful area of South Lazio situated midway between Rome and Naples.  We liked it so much, we decided to make it our home.  We bought an abandoned farmhouse in a quiet unspoiled valley with mountain views, on the outskirts of the small historic town of Itri near Sperlonga.

The Renovation of Tre Cancelle

Having renovated the farmhouse we now enjoy sharing this with guests who come and stay with us at Tre Cancelle for an enjoyable, restful holiday.  It is set amidst the greenery of our own olive groves, an excellent base for exploring this beautiful, region of South Lazio that is still largely undiscovered by foreign tourists.

Itri is close to many lovely Golden Sandy Beaches on the Riviera Di Ulisse, and Seaside Resorts of

Sperlonga / Gaeta / Formia / Terracina / San Felice Circeo.
